Our story
Decorative Decoys grew out of a family legacy of creativity, nature, and hands‑on craftsmanship. My grandmother had a green thumb and loved watching birds, while my grandpa—a welder who could build anything—turned scrap metal into garden art for her. When family and friends admired his creations, he happily made more, and a quiet tradition of making things by hand began to take root.
Years later, in 2004, that spirit resurfaced when we began designing windsock decoys for our decoy business. Relatives who didn’t hunt started asking for them as yard, flower‑bed, and garden ornaments, and soon friends, family, greenhouses, small stores, and wineries were displaying them. Since then, we’ve shipped tens of thousands of orders across the United States and to customers around the world.
One customer on the East Coast shared that during a hurricane, he used one of our windsocks to see which direction the wind was coming from as he rode out the storm. He said it was the only thing that didn’t blow away — a reminder of why durability matters.
As a small, family‑run business, we take pride in creating outdoor products that last and offering them directly to people who appreciate the outdoors. We’re proud to share that tradition with every customer who brings our work into their home.
